Record-Setting Deseret Peak High Wins National Concrete Honors

Deseret Peak High School earned top honors across the industry, recognized by TCA, ENR, UC&D, AGC, and ACI for excellence in educational construction and structural innovation. Spanning 336,000 square feet, this $139 million facility is celebrated for pushing the boundaries of architectural tilt-up concrete.

The project gained acclaim for its monumental 80-foot-tall walls and near-90-foot stage fly loft panels—ranking among the tallest single tilt-up panels in the world. The award-winning design celebrates exposed, unpainted concrete finishes with integral charcoal pigments across key spaces like the 1,200-seat auditorium and student commons. Paired with 30-foot passive shading canopies and eagle-wing geometry, Hughes General Contractors delivered an internationally recognized standard for modern educational design.
