Hughes General Contractors Helps Rebuild Iconic Dixie Sunbowl in St. George

Hughes General Contractors is proud to be part of the transformation of one of St. George's most beloved landmarks - the Dixie Sunbowl. For nearly eight decades, the Sunbowl has been home to the St. George Lions Club Roundup Rodeo, a tradition deeply rooted in the community. Now, this historic venue is entering a new era with a modernized design that will serve as an anchor for events and gatherings for years to come.

The new Sunbowl will feature approximately 7,000 seats, upgraded bleachers, and twin stair towers inspired by the Town Square architecture. While three-quarters of the site will remain dedicated to rodeo and event space, the addition of a year-round public plaza will create opportunities for concerts, festivals, and food-truck gatherings, making the Sunbowl a true hub for community life.

This ambitious project is designed to enhance safety, versatility, and accessibility while preserving the Sunbowl's legacy. Completion is targeted for September 2026, just in time for the next Dixie Roundup Rodeo. Hughes General Contractors is honored to contribute to a project that blends tradition with innovation, ensuring the Sunbowl continues to be a centerpiece for St. George's cultural and recreational life.
