Inspired by student experience, the innovative educational spaces are designed to offer flexibility and adaptability. Each element was carefully considered to support learning in multiple ways. Unique features of the school include common social spaces, “Grizz Talks” learning stair and presentation area, and a state-of-the-art makerspace.
Logan High School is a forward-thinking educational facility that blends 21st-century learning environments with a deep respect for its historic roots. Originally built in 1877, the campus underwent a major transformation, with approximately 60% of the project focused on adaptive reuse and the remainder on new construction.Preserving History, Inspiring the FutureA standout achievement of the renovation was the meticulous restoration of the historic auditorium ceiling—an iconic Art Deco feature. Hughes General Contractors worked closely with the school district to preserve the ceiling’s elaborate design while integrating modern seismic upgrades to ensure safety and longevity.
Hughes played a key role in the pre-construction phase, helping the district evaluate design options, materials, and budget priorities. The result is a facility that honors the legacy of the original school while providing adaptable, student-centered spaces that support modern teaching and learning.
