The Salt Lake Regional Athletic Complex transforms 144 acres along the Jordan River into a premier destination for athletes, families, and spectators. Sixteen natural-grass, sand-based fields support soccer, rugby, lacrosse, football, and other field sports, giving Salt Lake City the capacity to host local leagues as well as regional and national tournaments.
The complex includes eight lighted fields, a championship field, extensive parking, pedestrian circulation, and a 5,000-square-foot comfort station and concessions building. Approximately 200,000 square feet of concrete flatwork, 20,000 linear feet of curb and gutter, and 1.3 million square feet of irrigated landscaping create the durable infrastructure and welcoming environment needed for large-scale athletic events.
Advanced sitework technology helped deliver the precise grades essential to high-performing athletic fields. Hughes used LiDAR-generated topography and GPS-enabled equipment to achieve tight tolerances across the expansive site while navigating wetlands, a high water table, irrigation requirements, and access near major transportation corridors. The completed complex provides a world-class place for competition while expanding recreation opportunities for the broader community.
