The Murray Sports Fields Renovation transformed a 26-acre athletic park—one of the largest sports field complexes in Utah—into a more durable and versatile destination for community recreation. Three existing grass fields were converted into high-performance synthetic turf surfaces designed to support soccer, lacrosse, rugby, and other field sports.

The new fields expand playing opportunities by providing a consistent surface through a wider range of weather conditions, allowing local athletes and leagues to use the complex more of the year. Field striping and flexible layouts accommodate multiple sports and age groups, while upgraded drainage, utilities, fencing, walkways, and supporting site infrastructure improve performance and accessibility throughout the facility.

Replacing irrigated grass with synthetic turf also creates meaningful long-term water savings and reduces routine maintenance demands. The renovation provides Salt Lake County with a resilient, high-use athletic complex designed to meet growing community needs while conserving resources for years to come.
