Vista School is an award-winning, tuition-free public charter school that brings academics, arts, and technology together in one dynamic educational environment. The 39,000-square-foot expansion increases capacity for students from preschool through high school while creating dedicated space to strengthen the school’s performing arts and technology programs.

Architectural exposed tilt-up concrete connects the addition to Southern Utah’s desert landscape through varied colors, textures, and forms inspired by surrounding rock formations. The durable concrete surfaces continue from the exterior into interior spaces, unifying the performing arts theater, scene shop, maker space, robotics lab, choral room, and dance studio. Tilt-up also provided a cost-conscious structural and architectural solution with a lasting finish and minimal long-term maintenance.

At the center of the expansion, a sophisticated 510-seat auditorium creates a collegiate-level setting for performance and technical education. A fly loft, extensive catwalk system, and advanced sound technology support theatrical productions, while more than 440 multilayered white birch panels form acoustically responsive angles and gently curved ceiling clouds. An adjacent glazed lobby frames striking views of the mountains to the north, completing a facility designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and growth.
