Hughes worked closely with North Salt Lake City to create Tunnel Springs Park, a neighborhood destination where active recreation and access to the outdoors come together. Set along the city’s east bench, the park provides a welcoming starting point for nearby trail systems while offering everyday amenities for families, athletes, and community gatherings.
Open grassy fields, a full playground, sports courts, restrooms, parking, and a reservable pavilion support a wide range of activities—from youth play and casual games to picnics and organized events. The park’s comfortable scale and mix of amenities make it a versatile gathering place for the surrounding neighborhoods.
Direct access to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail extends the experience beyond the park, connecting visitors to hiking, biking, and expansive views across the valley. The completed project balances community recreation with the natural setting, creating a convenient place to play, gather, and begin an outdoor adventure.
