Now under construction, the Riverview Junior High School replacement will provide Murray City School District with a modern, state-of-the-art learning environment designed to serve students and faculty for generations. The approximately 173,400-square-foot school draws on the proven planning of other Junior Highs in the district, creating consistency across the district while introducing flexible academic spaces, welcoming common areas, and contemporary systems for safety, technology, and learning.
The new building is rising on the playfields west of the existing school, allowing classes and daily operations to continue throughout construction. Careful phasing, secure work zones, and close coordination with the district are helping maintain a safe active campus while construction progresses from footings and foundations to structural steel, masonry, and major tilt-up concrete elements at the auditorium and gymnasium.
Following completion, students will transition into the new facility for the 2027–2028 school year. The existing junior high will then be removed to make way for expanded parking and a new high school softball field, completing a carefully sequenced campus transformation and giving the Murray community a flexible, future-ready school built around student opportunity.
